The Wayfarer's log-built main house, alone among tall pines

The house

An old timber lodge, quietly rebuilt.

We kept the beams, the stone hearth and the long porch, and put everything else right: deep tubs, honest mattresses, a kitchen that bakes at six.

  • Pastries and pour-over every morning
  • A library with the fire lit by four
  • Bikes and canoes at the front desk
  • Dogs welcome by arrangement

From 312 stays this year. Every review is from a guest who slept here.

The kind of place where you stop checking your phone by the second morning. The loft tub, the pines, the coffee — all of it.
